India, Aug. 19 -- Vedanta group company Hindustan Zinc Ltd on Monday announced that its board has approved setting up a 10 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) tailings reprocessing plant with an investment of up to Rs 3,823 crore.

The facility, to be established at Rampura Agucha in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, will be India's first zinc tailings reprocessing plant and is expected to be completed within 28 months. The project forms part of the company's broader strategy to double its production capacity.
