India, Aug. 27 -- Hindalco Industries has commissioned India's first greenfield Superfine PPT ATH (Precipitated Aluminium Trihydrate) manufacturing plant at its Belagavi facility in Karnataka, marking a significant step towards reducing the country's dependence on imports of the specialty material.
The new facility has an annual production capacity of 30,000 tonnes, which is designed to meet nearly the entire domestic demand for PPT ATH from the wire and cable industry. The plant can be expanded to 60,000 tonnes annually in phases, depending on market demand.
