India, June 2 -- Guar gum prices edged higher in futures trade on Tuesday as firm demand in the physical market encouraged traders to increase their positions.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the June delivery guar gum contract rose Rs 29, or 0.25%, to Rs 11,487 per quintal, with an open interest of 34,390 lots.
The contract had settled at Rs 11,458 per quintal in the previous session. Market participants attributed the gains to sustained demand in the spot market and fresh buying interest from traders, which supported prices in the futures segment.
