India, Oct. 1 -- The Finance Ministry on Tuesday extended the deadline for central government employees under the National Pension System (NPS) to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) by two months, pushing the cut-off date to November 30 from the earlier September 30, 2025.

In a communication to the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) Chairman, the Department of Financial Services conveyed the decision, citing the need for more time in light of recent enhancements to the scheme.
