India, Oct. 14 -- Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, announced that Google's upcoming 1-gigawatt hyperscale data centre in Visakhapatnam is expected to generate around ?10,000 crore in revenue for Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking after Google's announcement of its first AI hub and hyperscale data centre in India during the Bharat AI Shakti event in New Delhi, Dr. Chandrasekhar described the project as a landmark in Andhra Pradesh's journey toward digital self-reliance. The investment of $15 billion (USD) over 2026–2030 will create 5,000–6,000 direct jobs and up to 30,000 total jobs, while boosting local infrastructure, power, and cooling capacities.
