India, July 24 -- Gold futures declined on Friday as weak demand in the physical market weighed on prices.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the August contract fell Rs 849, or 0.59%, to Rs 1,41,972 per 10 grams, with a trading volume of 729 lots.

Market analysts attributed the decline in gold prices to subdued spot demand.
