India, July 17 -- Gold futures declined by Rs. 248 to Rs. 1,40,100 per 10 grams on Friday in early trade, weighed down by softer demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), August gold contracts traded 0.18% lower at Rs. 1,40,100 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 1,026 lots.
Market analysts attributed the decline in gold prices to weak spot demand, which put pressure on the precious metal despite ongoing global uncertainties.
