India, Aug. 4 -- Gold futures advanced on Tuesday, supported by firm global trends as investors awaited key US economic data for further clarity on the US Federal Reserve's interest rate outlook.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), October gold contracts gained Rs 682, or 0.48%, to Rs 1,43,597 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 725 lots.
Analysts said gold prices remained supported by renewed geopolitical tensions in West Asia and expectations surrounding upcoming US labour market data, which could provide further direction on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy trajectory.
