India, April 22 -- Eveready Industries India Limited has inaugurated India's only operational alkaline battery manufacturing facility in Jammu, marking a major boost to domestic production capabilities. The plant was inaugurated by Manoj Sinha.
Built with an investment of around Rs 200 crore, the greenfield facility has a peak production capacity of about 360 million units annually and an installed capacity of 456 million units. The project is expected to reduce import dependence, strengthen supply chains, and support growing demand for high-performance batteries.
The facility is also set to generate over 500 direct and indirect jobs and contribute to initiatives like Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, while enabling Eveready to expan...
