India, Aug. 28 -- India's domestic air passenger traffic fell 2.94% year-on-year to 1.26 crore in July, according to data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday.

The decline comes in the wake of the fatal Air India Ahmedabad–London Gatwick crash on June 12, which claimed 260 lives. In comparison, Indian carriers had carried 1.29 crore passengers on domestic routes in July 2024, as per DGCA records.
