India, May 12 -- Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated India's first Integrated Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) Field Laboratory Facility under Bharat Innovates 2026 at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

The facility marks a major step in strengthening India's clean energy and climate-tech ecosystem and includes an indigenously developed Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) Pilot Facility capable of handling up to 3 tonnes of CO2 per day. The project also includes Geological CO2 Sequestration (GCS) scientific drilling in basalt formations within the Deccan Traps to study long-term carbon storage mechanisms.
