India, Jan. 28 -- Crude oil prices moved higher in futures trade on Wednesday, rising by Rs 82 to Rs 5,787 per barrel, as participants increased their positions amid firm demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), crude oil contracts for February delivery advanced by Rs 82, or 1.44%, to Rs 5,787 per barrel, with a business turnover of 32,055 lots.
Analysts attributed the uptick in crude oil futures to fresh buying by market participants, supported by steady spot market demand.
