India, July 24 -- Crude oil futures declined nearly 2% on Friday as traders booked profits following the recent rally, although supply concerns persisted amid escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), crude oil for August delivery fell Rs 148, or 1.64%, to Rs 8,876 per barrel, with a trading volume of 17,232 lots.
The September contract also declined Rs 154, or 1.79%, to Rs 8,426 per barrel, with a turnover of 2,125 lots.
Despite the decline in domestic futures, global benchmark Brent crude continued to hover near the USD 100 per barrel mark, supported by ongoing supply concerns stemming from heightened tensions in West Asia.
