India, July 31 -- Crude oil futures declined nearly 3% on Friday, with the August contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) falling Rs 226 to Rs 7,811 per barrel.

The decline tracked weakness in global crude prices as improving tanker movement through key West Asia shipping routes eased immediate supply concerns, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions. Meanwhile, the September crude contract also slipped Rs 190 to Rs 7,616 per barrel.
