India, April 6 -- Copper futures advanced on Monday, with prices increasing by Rs 8.80 to Rs 1,179.85 per kg, supported by firm demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India, May delivery contracts gained 0.75%, with a turnover of 397 lots.

The rise was attributed to fresh buying interest and higher positions built by market participants.
