India, Sept. 17 -- Copper prices rose by Rs 8.15 to Rs 1,382.50 per kg in futures trade on Thursday, supported by firm demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for September delivery gained 0.59% to Rs 1,382.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 9,111 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise to fresh buying and increased bets by market participants.
