India, Aug. 10 -- Copper prices rose Rs 7.35, or 0.54%, to Rs 1,372.85 per kg in futures trade on Monday, supported by firm demand in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for August delivery advanced to Rs 1,372.85 per kilogram, with a business turnover of 1,464 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise to increased positions taken by market participants, which supported copper prices in the futures market.
