India, March 23 -- Copper prices dropped by Rs 31.55 to Rs 1,088.65 per kg in futures trade on Monday, weighed down by subdued demand in the domestic spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for April delivery fell Rs 31.55, or 2.82 per cent, to Rs 1,088.65 per kg, with a turnover of 2,562 lots.

Traders said muted demand from consuming industries in the domestic market led to the decline in copper prices.
