India, May 19 -- The Union Government has signed reform-linked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 to strengthen transparent, accountable and community-driven rural water supply management.

The agreements aim to promote a Gram Panchayat-led and service-based model of rural water governance in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of C. R. Patil, Minister of State V. Somanna and senior officials of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
