India, April 6 -- India's automobile retail sales grew 13.3% year-on-year to a record 2.97 crore units in FY26, driven by improved demand across segments, according to FADA.
Passenger vehicle sales rose 13% YoY to 47.05 lakh units, while two-wheeler sales increased 13.4% YoY to 2.14 crore units during the fiscal.
FADA noted that policy support such as GST-related measures helped offset a subdued start to the year. However, it remains cautiously optimistic, highlighting potential risks to demand from geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
