India, July 24 -- Aluminium futures edged lower on Friday as weak demand from consuming industries and a subdued spot market prompted traders to trim their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the July contract declined Rs 1.45, or 0.42%, to Rs 345.15 per kg, with a trading volume of 345 lots.

Market analysts said easing demand from key consuming industries weighed on aluminium prices.
