India, June 29 -- Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Dapsone Gel, 5%, used for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris.
The approved product is the generic equivalent of Aczone Gel, 5%, marketed by Almirall, LLC.
The approval strengthens Alembic Pharmaceuticals' dermatology portfolio in the U.S. market and expands its portfolio of USFDA-approved generic products.
