Pakistan, July 4 -- A wildfire in Turkey's western Izmir province has claimed a second life, as fires continue to rage across several regions for the seventh day. The latest victim, Ibrahim Demir, a backhoe operator, died while fighting the flames in the Odemis district.

Earlier, an 81-year-old man who was bedridden and alone in his home also died when the fire reached his house. These tragic deaths mark the first casualties since the fires began spreading rapidly.

A little-known group calling itself the "Children of Fire" has claimed responsibility for dozens of arson attacks across six Turkish cities. The group says it is linked to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), though the PKK has not confirmed this claim.
