Pakistan, Oct. 4 -- ISLAMABAD - The weekly inflation, measured by the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), rose by 0.56 percent for the combined consumption group during the week ending October 2, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The SPI was recorded at 332.17 points, up from 330.32 points in the previous week. On a year-on-year basis, the SPI showed an overall increase of 4.07 percent, reflecting modest inflationary pressure compared to last year.

The index, which uses 2015-16 as the base year (100 points), tracks 51 essential commodities across 17 urban centres for all income groups.
