Vietnam has closed schools, shut down airports, and started mass evacuations as Typhoon Kajiki approaches the central coast, bringing gusts of up to 166 kph and heavy rainfall.
The storm, located around 110 km off northern central Vietnam, is expected to make landfall Monday afternoon. Authorities warned of dangerous flooding, landslides, and fast-moving winds that could threaten lives and property.
Approximately 30,000 people have been evacuated so far, with plans to move more than half a million from coastal areas. Soldiers and paramilitary personnel are actively assisting with evacuation and rescue operations.
