Pakistan, July 2 -- The United States has signed an agreement to build a permanent US embassy in occupied Jerusalem, marking another step in expanding its diplomatic presence in the disputed city. The agreement was formally presented during a ceremony attended by senior US and Israeli officials.

During the event, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee unveiled the land allocation agreement for the new embassy. Speaking at the ceremony, Huckabee said the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Jewish people and plans to establish a permanent diplomatic complex there.
