Pakistan, Sept. 21 -- US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said Washington remains open to negotiations with Iran. He said President Donald Trump wants to prevent Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Waltz made the remarks during an event hosted by Al-Monitor in New York. He also said the United States would continue applying pressure on Iran while keeping diplomatic channels available. Waltz said Iran could return to negotiations if it does so in good faith.
