Pakistan, Aug. 29 -- The United States plans to end military assistance to Iraq's Kurdistan region, according to British media reports. The move comes as a security agreement between Washington and the Kurdish authorities approaches its expiration. The agreement is expected to end in September. US Defence Department officials have reportedly informed Kurdish authorities that renewal is unlikely. The decision could mark a significant change in Washington's security role in northern Iraq.
