Pakistan, July 30 -- The United States launched a new wave of direct military strikes against Iran early Thursday, marking a sharp escalation in regional tensions just one day after Iran's reported failed attacks on military bases in Jordan hosting American troops.

According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), American forces carried out a two-hour operation targeting dozens of sites linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
