Pakistan, July 23 -- The US House of Representatives has narrowly approved its version of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), authorising a record $1.15 trillion in military spending amid sharp political divisions over the Iran conflict, defence priorities and US-Israel military cooperation.

The legislation passed by a 216-212 vote, with most Republicans supporting the bill while nearly all Democrats opposed it. The measure now moves to negotiations with the Senate, where lawmakers will work to reconcile differences before a final version can be sent to President Donald Trump for approval.
