Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- US President Donald Trump has claimed that Washington has "total control" over Iran's money, as he described the Iranian economy as being in serious condition.

Speaking to US-based Real America's Voice, Trump said Iran was facing severe economic difficulties and could no longer borrow money.

"They can't borrow money. We control their money," Trump said, claiming that Iran previously held substantial financial resources.

Trump also described himself jokingly as Iran's "banker" while discussing Washington's control over Iranian financial resources. He did not provide further details about his claim.
