Pakistan, July 24 -- The United States (US) launched a fresh wave of airstrikes on Iran early Friday, marking the 13th consecutive day of military action, after attacks on two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea heightened tensions across the Middle East and threatened global energy supplies.

According to US Central Command (Centcom), the strikes targeted Iranian military command centres, drone storage facilities, communication networks, coastal surveillance sites and maritime capabilities. The US said the operation was intended to reduce threats to civilian mariners and commercial vessels operating near the Strait of Hormuz.
