Pakistan, Aug. 4 -- The Trump administration is preparing a ban on new Chinese data center components entering the United States, according to sources familiar with the matter. The move aims to protect critical infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence development.

The Federal Communications Commission is working on measures targeting new Chinese optical transceivers used in data centers. Officials hope to publish the restrictions this year, although sources said the proposal could still change or be withdrawn.
