WASHINGTON, May 26 -- The United States (US) launched what it described as "self-defence" strikes in southern Iran on Monday, targeting missile launch sites and boats allegedly attempting to lay mines, according to the US Central Command. The military action came as senior Iranian negotiators arrived in Doha for talks aimed at ending the ongoing conflict between the two countries.
