Pakistan, Nov. 23 -- Nearly 200,000 Ukrainians who fled the war now face uncertainty in the United States, as delays in processing renewals of a key humanitarian programme place them at risk of losing legal status and deportation, leaving families under severe pressure.

The programme, launched in 2022, allowed around 260,000 Ukrainians to live and work in the US, yet a pause in application processing this year forced many to lose jobs, health insurance, and income supporting relatives already displaced across Europe.
