Pakistan, Aug. 10 -- Typhoon Dolphin brought torrential rain and flooding to eastern China, disrupting travel and forcing nearly 950 flight cancellations in Shanghai.

Dolphin made landfall in Zhejiang on Sunday with maximum sustained winds of 151 kilometres per hour. The storm weakened after moving inland but continued producing heavy rainfall.

Shanghai's two airports cancelled 943 flights because of the severe weather, reducing flight capacity by nearly 40 percent. China Eastern Airlines said it was working to restore services.
