Pakistan, Aug. 24 -- The twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are resplendent with illuminations, flags, and banners as Muslims across the region prepare to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace be upon him) with religious zeal.

Markets, residential streets, and shopping plazas have been decorated with LED lights, buntings, and calligraphic banners bearing "Marhaba Ya Mustafa (PBUH)". District administrations of both cities have started cleanliness drives and made security arrangements for central processions and Milad gatherings expected on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. Shopkeepers have set up special stalls selling decorative items, flags, and Milad accessories.
