Pakistan, July 16 -- Turkiye will lead the maritime component of proposed security guarantees for Ukraine, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced. The plan forms part of broader post-war security arrangements under discussion with allied countries. The move highlights Ankara's expanding role in efforts to support regional stability.

Fidan reaffirmed Turkiye's support for continuing negotiations under the Istanbul format. He said direct talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials had improved transparency and maintained diplomatic communication. According to Fidan, ongoing fighting should not prevent dialogue between the two sides.
