Pakistan, Aug. 5 -- US President Donald Trump warned Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face severe military action. However, he also said a breakthrough agreement could be reached within days.

Trump told reporters in California that negotiations had made strong progress. Therefore, he expressed hope that a deal could be announced as early as Wednesday. Earlier, Trump adopted a tougher tone during a television interview. He said the strategic waterway would reopen soon or Iran would be "hit very hard."
