Pakistan, Sept. 25 -- US President Donald Trump told Chinese President Xi Jinping that helping Iran remains unacceptable, a US envoy said Friday. The warning came during candid White House talks between the two leaders. It highlighted Washington's concerns over possible Chinese assistance to Tehran.

US Ambassador to China David Perdue said Trump had clearly raised the issue with Xi. He said Washington had already communicated its position to Beijing weeks earlier. According to Perdue, the United States opposes both direct and indirect assistance to Iran.
