Pakistan, Sept. 26 -- US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's proposal for a seven-day ceasefire, according to the Wall Street Journal. The report cited US officials familiar with the matter. Trump also reportedly told aides he expected renewed US bombing after November's midterm elections. The reported decision comes amid continuing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran sent the proposal through Qatari mediators. Under the plan, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
