Pakistan, June 3 -- The United States has proposed new tariffs on imports from 60 economies, including Pakistan, over concerns about forced labour in global supply chains. The move matters because it could affect trade flows and export competitiveness. Businesses, exporters, and governments across dozens of countries may face higher costs in the US market.

The proposal, announced by the office of US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, would impose an additional 10 percent duty on imports from Pakistan and several other economies.
