Pakistan, June 25 -- Authorities in Karachi have implemented extensive security measures for the central 9th Muharram procession, including the suspension of mobile phone services in key areas. More than 5,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of participants and maintain public order. The measures aim to facilitate the smooth conduct of one of the city's largest Muharram gatherings.

The central Majlis was held at Nishtar Park at 10am, where religious scholar Allama Shehnshah Hussain Naqvi addressed mourners. Following the gathering, the main procession is scheduled to begin from Nishtar Park at 1pm and proceed along its traditional route through the city.
