Pakistan, June 30 -- Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has criticised what he described as the growing practice of referring to terrorists as "militants", insisting that those responsible for acts of terrorism should be identified by their actions.

Speaking on Tuesday, Tarar objected to the use of the term "militants" in a report by Turkish public broadcaster TRT World covering the recent attack on a Pakistan Rangers facility in Karachi, in which three security personnel were killed.

"The Karachi attack was a terrorist attack in which innocent people were killed," Tarar said, adding that "terrorists must not be called by any other name."
