Judiciary in the Crosshairs

On the morning of 23 July 2026, the vehicle of Sessions Judge Mastung, Abdul Hakeem Kakar, was moving along the Quetta-Karachi highway toward the district courts. It was a routine judicial commute. With him was his police gunman and colleague, Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari. They never reached the court.

In the Khad Kucha area of Mastung, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists affiliated with lying in ambush opened indiscriminate fire. Judge Kakar and his gunman embraced martyrdom on the spot. Judge Lashari was critically injured and rushed to Quetta in serious condition.
