Pakistan, Oct. 1 -- Tennessee authorities halted the execution of convicted murderer Christa Pike after the lethal injection procedure apparently failed on Wednesday. Pike was taken to a nearby hospital, according to her lawyers. Witnesses said she appeared to remain alive after authorities administered the injections at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville.
