Pakistan, June 9 -- Karachi is bracing for a severe heatwave as temperatures are expected to rise sharply in the coming days. The Meteorological Department warned that mercury levels may reach 43 degrees Celsius. The forecast matters for millions of residents facing harsh outdoor conditions and health risks.
According to the Met Department, the heatwave is expected to persist from June 10 to June 12. Authorities said high humidity will further intensify the weather conditions. As a result, the heat index may make it feel as hot as 50 degrees Celsius.
