Pakistan, Sept. 30 -- Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan will not accept water being used for political pressure. He stressed that the Indus Waters Treaty remains vital to Pakistan's survival. The minister made the remarks during the launch of a special report on Wednesday.

Tarar said the treaty cannot be suspended or halted through a unilateral decision. He argued that international agreements become binding after the concerned parties formally conclude them. According to him, the treaty therefore remains subject to its agreed terms.
