Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Syria's interior ministry on Monday vowed to hold those responsible for the killing of an unarmed man at a Sweida hospital accountable. The incident, captured on a newly surfaced video, sparked outrage and calls for justice.

The ministry strongly condemned the act and promised to bring the perpetrators to justice, regardless of their affiliations. The man, identified as an engineer volunteering at the hospital, was shot after a brief scuffle, according to hospital surveillance footage.

The violence in Sweida began on July 13 between local Druze fighters and Bedouin tribes. It quickly escalated, involving outside forces, and resulted in nearly 1,600 deaths, many of them Druze civilians, according to war monitors.
