Pakistan, Oct. 13 -- Sydney Sweeney's The Housemaid has climbed to the top of HBO Max's movie charts in the United States. The 2025 psychological thriller returned to the spotlight after arriving on the streaming platform on October 9. It reached number one by October 11 and maintained its position as of October 12.

Directed by Paul Feig and written by Rebecca Sonnenshine, the film adapts Freida McFadden's 2022 novel of the same name. Sweeney plays Millie Calloway, a formerly incarcerated woman who accepts a live-in maid job with Nina Winchester, played by Amanda Seyfried. However, Millie soon discovers troubling secrets within the household and becomes increasingly drawn into the family's complicated relationships.
